Discounts version 1.0 ===================== Copyright 1994, William Kearney & The Novanto Group. All Rights Reserved. A note to fellow developers: Well, I've finally gotten a grip on auto parts. (yeah!) They're not all that hard to use once you really understand a few basic things. Be sure to thoroughly read and understand Mike Engber's "Newton Still Needs the Card" article. It's is absolutely necessary you understand EnsureInternal() for this stuff to work. You will also need to read his "Bit Parts" article. Both are in PIE Developers mag. Mike, thanks for putting up with my questions! Now for the rest of you... Have we paid our ShareWare fees? This one is, again, $5. Send your fees to: Bill Kearney The Novanto Group P.O.Box 201 Lutherville, MD 21093-0201 (410) 235-4574 If you don't think it's worth $5, then at least send me an e-mail message. My Internet address is: wkearney@access.digex.net If you'd like to post this package on another electronic distribution site or on any form of disk libraries, you must get my permission first. Simply e-mail me a request to include it BEFORE you post or include it. It's my package and I want to know where it goes. You may not charge for this package (unless I get piece of the action) And for all the rest of you leeches, I believe the words of Monty Python work well here: (with a heavy French accent) "I fart in your general direction!" With all the ranting out of the way, here's the details... This is a very simple discount calculator. It allows you to enter a price and two discount percentages. It will then show you values of the price less the calculated percents. Sure, I could make it do a lot more, but this was a safe, first try. All you need to do is enter your price in the upper right field. Use the pen or the keyboard, both will work. Then you can enter one or both percentages. Bear in mind that these are whole numbers that will be used as percentages. It's rather difficult to get the Newton to recognize a leading period, so I decided against using them. The calculations are fully dynamic. As you type, the sums will recalc. If you scrub out a value, it will blank the sum. That's it. If you have any additional formula requests, be sure to get in touch with me. If you'd like source code to this product, I'll sell it to you for $10. Regards, Bill Kearney
