DRG.pkg PROC.pkg DIAG.pkg These Newton packages display lists of DRG codes and ICD-9 codes (separated into diagnoses and procedures files) with abbreviated descriptions. The Newton Find command allows the user to jump to specific codes or display a list of codes containing the search string. Because of the extensive use of abbreviations, you must careful when searching for text strings. Unfortunately, the files are very large by Newton standards. The diagnosis file is 779K. Procedures is 230K. The DRG list is 68K. I am uploading these files to the newton.uiowa.edu archive since many people expressed an interest in them. Please understand that I created these files for my own use, and I am making them available to the public only as an example of what the Newton can do. These files are in no way a replacement for published codebooks. Having said that, I hope someone does endevour to make indexed Newton Books containing ICD-9 codes and the line. You may distribute these files freely, but this _readme.txt file must be included at all times. These Newton applications were created using David Fedor's (fedor@mcs.com) PaperBack program. These are not true Newton books, but are applications with the functionality of books. Mr. Fedor had no role in the creation of these particular files, so don't direct questions about their content to him.
